I’ve always been the adventurous type, I wanted to discover the world, other peoples, other cultures and ways of living.

The making of a career, the founding of a family didn’t seem the right path to choose. I had always been looking, at first unconsciously, for another kind of happiness, of freedom than those suggested by society.

At a very early stage I was attracted by wide spaces, by stories of adventures. I was dreaming of travelling around the world, of having enthralling adventures. During my teens I was reading avidly books concerning spirituality, especially those by Arnaud Desjardins. He brought me know about the great Wise Persons of India and the holy mountain of Arunachala, in southern India, which I was lucky to discover in 2011.

Then in 1980 I had the possibility of leaving Europe for the first time and to travel to the country I had so much dreamt of, India. It became an unforgettable journey of about four months, during which I travelled around this huge country. And then in New Delhi, at Connaught place, I had the most incredible encounter of my life.

"Connaught place is a big circular place with a great dome in its centre and a park covering a little round market place underneath. This park is surrounded by a large sidewalk with stone benches here and there. I was sitting on a bench without any special goal in mind when I noticed something in the park on my left. Sitting on the ground in the Lotus pose position was a man looking a little like Gandhi and wearing only a white cloth around his waist. Physically he looked old and frail, but there was a strength radiating from him, a superhuman power. He appeared to be at the same time here and somewhere else, and no one seemed to notice him. I couldn’t stop looking at him. Time seemed to have stopped. Then suddenly his gaze lighted up and plunged into my deepest self. I was turned upside down, and deeply moved. This spiritual Being knew me infinitely better than I knew myself. This look of the Sage said to me "look, you also are THAT". This look, the Darshan of the Wise one, has been engraved into my soul for eternity..."

In the following years I worked in Switzerland in the summer and discovered South East Asia, Japan and Australia in the winter...

Apocalypse comes from the Greek word meaning Revelation.

Revelation comes from Spiritual Experience.

Spiritual Experience is not in books or speeches. It is in the personal experience of the Ultimate Reality, the Divine Self, the Truth, our true Identity. In the personal experience of the Impersonal.

The spiritual domain is so subtle that it is very easy to have a mistaken understanding of it and come to the wrong conclusions.

The Source of Creation and of ourselves is beyond the mental, beyond the five senses. Beyond this mortal body. Wanting to ‘understand’ it with our intellect, our logic, our thought, ‘imagine’ it with our imagination, is like trying to describe the Indescribable, name the Unnameable, imagine the Unimaginable, limit the Unlimited, shut the Infinite in a little box.

Believing that the apocalypse is the destruction of the world, so that the master of such and such a religion can come back to Earth, is certainly a mistaken understanding of the apocalypse.

The apocalypse is not an event in time - past, present or future. It is a spiritual event which can happen at any moment, here and now, in the life of every human being, whether atheist or believer, whichever system of belief they follow, or not.

The apocalypse is not the destruction of the world but the transcendence of the ego and of illusions. The illusion of believing that this world is reality. The illusion of believing that this body, this human personality, is our real identity, our true Self. The illusion of believing that our system of belief, whichever one it is, is the Truth. The illusion of believing that books and speeches are the truth.

Once we have the supreme blessing and infinite luck of the Spiritual Experience, all illusions and attachment disappear completely and the Ultimate Reality, the Truth, reveals itself in all its Splendour.

Such is the truth, the real meaning of the apocalypse.

The Buddha says: "Attachment is the cause of all suffering".

On a wall, in the ashram of the wise Sri Ramana Maharshi, at the foot of the holy mountain, Arunachala, in Southern India it is written: "The ego is the source of all suffering"...

From a very young age, our ego, our human personality, has to develop to survive in this world where we are to live from our birth to our death. The child grows and develops its ego, asserting more and more its personality, its difference from others.

When we have reached adulthood, our ego becomes stronger. We want to be the tallest, handsomest, the strongest, bravest, richest and the happiest one, a star admired and acknowledged by all.

Our desire to be acknowledged, to gain power, wealth, and satisfaction is boundless. We crave for more and more. We take care of our looks, we need the most beautiful clothes, car, house and more and more money and power.

In the course of our life we identify more and more with our body, with the appearance we have invented to shine in the world and to survive through life. We create an image, as perfect as is possible, of what we want to be and identify more and more with this image.

The more we identify with this picture of our-selves, with our body, our human personality, the more we move away from our true Identity, from our spiritual identity, the divine Self.

And the more we move away from Love, Happiness, Peace and Freedom, which is what we are deep down in our-selves, beyond our human personality and our body.

We are desperately searching for this Love and Happiness, this Peace and perfect Freedom in thousands of things, in the other person.

Love, Happiness, Peace, Freedom

Who ever we are, or think we are, what are we looking for, amongst thousands of things in this world and in the other person? Love, Happiness, Peace and perfect Freedom, eternal and indestructible.

But these aren’t things we can possess and therefore lose. They are the aspects of our true spiritual being, immortal and eternal.

So why aren’t we happy, peaceful, and free? Because we identify with this body, the human person, the body of which we think it is the Self, our true identity.

But this appearance, this image of what we think we are never satisfies us completely. There is always something missing to make us completely satisfied, happy, peaceful and free. The more we are attached to this image of our-selves, the more we identify with our body, the more we move away from our real nature, our true happiness.

And then one day, what we call death knocks at our door and invites us to totally give up this image we created, this small person we cherished so much, this body we always thought to be our self. This illusory self will disappear into the unfathomable depths of the unknown. It seems terrifying, so unfair.

But Love, Happiness, Peace and perfect indestructible Freedom are not a question of Having but of Being. Being, is simply what we all are deep down. It is our spiritual nature, the divine Self, the ultimate Reality of the universe and of our-selves.

When we are again living the spiritual Experience, the divine Self, we become what we were looking for blindly during many human lives, through many thousand identities, and thousands of different things. We are again Love, Happiness, Peace and perfect Freedom, indestructible and eternal. This is what we have always been and still are and will eternally be...

God, Salvation, Paradise, the Promised Land, Heavenly Jerusalem, Nirvana, the Satori, the Holy Land of Islam, Tao, Self-Awareness, Cosmic Awareness, Christly Consciousness, Divine Consciousness, Vacuity, Awakening, Illumination, the Absolute, the Ultimate Reality, What Is without Name or Shape, Non-Duality, That, the Divine Self.

These expressions seem to have different meanings, but do they have something in common?

In the field of words they seem so different and to have each an own signification. But are words Truth?

For such a long time men have torn themselves to pieces because of Truth, for they stick to the letter of the spirit instead of understanding the spirit of the letter. Human beings consider words, books, speeches, believes as Truth.

Spirituality teaches Truth trough the lived experience of the Divine, the ultimate Reality, our universal and eternal Identity beyond our human, religious, cultural, ethnic, national and social identities.

The Spiritual is the lived experience of the ultimate Reality of the universe and our-selves, which allows us to discover our true spiritual Identity that is eternally Love, Happiness, Peace and perfect Freedom.

The Spiritual experience

Spiritual experience is not a question of belief and does not result from reading a book or listening to a fine speech.

It occurs when we are ready to let go of everything, of the identification with our body, our desires, believes, our own life.

At that moment we are completely covered in energy, an energy of a power, a peace, a tenderness and infinite love, which penetrates the deepest parts of our-selves.

From that moment we surrender completely to this wonderful energy and rely totally in it. And from that moment the energy guides us and we become free of all worries and apprehensions. A deep peace sweeps over us, there is no past, no future, we are living in the eternal Present, in the here and now. We are in a state of Bliss, Happiness, Peace and perfect Freedom.

Dear reader,

With this book I would like you to share an outstanding adventure, which leads far beyond words. Far beyond our intellectual, logical comprehension.

Hopefully this journey will lead you to share with me a true adventure which brought me far over the limits of humane experience to where the deepest aspect of every-one is to be found: it is only waiting to open and blossom like the lotus showing all its beauty above the mire of human passions. Besides the physical, human journey, this adventure took me to the spiritual Experience, to the Experience of the final Reality of the Universe and of our-selves, the Experience of the Divine Self.

The words in this book are only a support I used to try to pass on in the most true and authentic way the experience of a reality that IS, far beyond words and logic.

It is a journey that brought me a Love, a Happiness, a Peace and a Freedom surpassing human awareness.

To understand this book one shouldn’t try to perceive the words as they are understood in a novel, for example, but let oneself be carried away by them and by a journey that is as well physical as it is human and spiritual. This adventure will lead you far beyond hope, far beyond what we can understand, conceive, imagine and dream in a state of human consciousness, through our five senses. A journey which surpasses our ordinary logic in order to lead us to another comprehension of Life, of the Universe and our-selves.

A word from the editor

Dear friends,

Here are a few lines a summary of my life journey from a spiritual perspective. First I am not a guru but a traveler on the way. I think I'm on the road since I was born in this world with the human body. I have always felt different, more lonely than others. At around 18 I asked a psychic if it was my last incarnation on earth.

Then I met some friends who enlightened me and stop me to sink into drugs. This is partly, thanks to them, that I'm here today.

I always wanted another happiness, another way than what the society offered me.

My first experience

I remember it as clearly as if it had happened just yesterday.

I must have been about two years old at the time. I was standing on my little child’s legs in front of a cooker that seemed very tall to me. To my right was my mum, who was probably cooking.

In my little child’s mind, I wanted to know what was on that cooker. So I stood on tiptoe and raised my right arm as high as I could. My mum saw this and said, "don’t put your hand there, it’s hot." I pulled my hand away and came back down onto my heels.

But in my little child’s mind, I wanted to know, what does "it’s hot" mean? I stood on tiptoe again, raised my right arm as high as I could and put my hand… into the fire.

I pulled my hand away very quickly and looked at it: it was covered in blisters and it… ouch.

From that moment on, I’ve always put experience before belief, books and what people say.

To 17 I left my body and went to incredible speed to a light at the end of a tunnel. Then a voice or maybe a thought made me understand that it was not my time, I had to return to earth.

Many years later I went out of my body again but this time I was in a sphere that brought me to a "place" where I heard voices and saw the head of a man who says "what are you doing here ?" And I found myself instantly in my body.

These experiences made me understand that it is useless to seek life, happiness elsewhere, on other planets. They also brought me to have an open attitude to the "unknown".

But I also always felt guided by a "force", a "power" far beyond me, protecting me and that is the Life that animates me, that animates all things.

Then I spent some 13 years on the roads of India, Southeast Asia, Japan and Australia with a lot of experience, discovery and sharing life moments with beings apparently different from me by their cultures, their philosophies, their ways of living but with whom I felt familiar, in unity. In Asia I have always felt "at home".

Perhaps these experiences, this course of life have prepared me to live the spiritual experience that I share in my book.

But I did not try this experiment. As one Indian spiritual master say: "It just happens". It just happened, so I just wanted to tour the beautiful island of Bali by motorcycle.

This experience is not a perception of reality that is beyond us. Because for there to be perception must be someone who sees something. Out when in the spiritual experience there is no ego, so nobody to perceive something. It is a total immersion in the divine Self. This is the state without ego, the spiritual awakening.

Now is there method for "reach" this state of enlightenment? certainly yes. Self-presence, meditation, yoga, the question "Who am I" ? and especially the total letting go of what we believe to be to awaken to who we are.

And then there is life itself, the one we live daily. It is our master, our daily exercise. Our yoga. Our experience.

That's what I can tell you based on my own experience, not books, speeches or religious or scientific theories.

The only thing that matters is our life experience and what we do with this experience.
